sweetest comment this morning. great way to start the day when not feeling it, but it is nice to be bare-armed/legged again.

yeah, so there's like 10 pictures. not in an editing mood. just...tired. cranked out a paper yesterday which i was able to have a very good friend review. he let me know in no unclear terms that what i had written was bullshit. so i had to start nearly from scratch. good thing too b/c i don't like to submit nonsense to an instructor, even if that instructor seems completely oblivious to the rules and regulations of how a class is supposed to be run.

still no fun time. hoping that next tuesday i'll be alive enough to go out and get a beer. mmm...beer. cold. and wings. so that's the goal, ladies and germs. make it to tuesday. wings, beer, and vogue.

made a video last night. watched it three times and promptly deleted it. can't have y'all hearing my preppy white girl phone voice. so instead, i give you mirror images of me and homer simpson reveling in his raw toast...
my friend did the brazilian blowout treatment on my hair and then blow dried/flat ironed it like so. it's supposed to rain tomorrow, so expect me to show up with big hair again by wednesday. :)

pardon the absence. been trying to heal. still pretty stuffy but on the mend. currently kicking myself in the ass for not taking a lesser job for lesser pay and choosing instead to work for the earthly equivalent of the devil. the devil is NOT cool, man.

i'm also learning a new side of myself. the side that doesnt like to buy things unnecessarily. the side that cares about her health. the side that really is substantive despite an extended period of self-doubt. anyway, more on that later.  on to the clothes:

i think i'm becoming like the divinitus (and others) in that i'm sticking to a main/single color palette and working in bits around it. i seem to be the queen of brown. it's just such a great color! especially in boots... but i tried to add a bit of color with the bag, on account of it being spring and whatnot.  it's also quite chilly this morning, hence the extra layers.  my hair. is huge.

went out to dinner last night and scared off some people who were less...pigmented. i sort of love/hate that about my hair. it's not super spectacular as compared to anyone else's or anything. but it definitely gets a LOT of attention when it's like this. people touch it sometimes, but mostly there's just a lot of gawking. and usually, the places i frequent for my food and drink are not usually frequented by persons of color, so it stands out even more. lol. but that's part of the awesome of nyc. people look, raise a brow, and then they go back to their cocktails.

i got my ma a box of chocolate covered strawberries via gilt (love that site). however, i think there's a major fail going on on the part of the usps/ups/whoever the people are delivering it, because i have not yet received the super-excited, blubbering phone call saying thank you yet. she generally hates that stuff so i sent them in lieu of actual time spent together since she'll be working.  anything cool planned for mother's day?

sneakers. ACTUAL sneakers. i bought these shoes about 6 years ago during an 'I WILL BE COMFORTABLE' phase when all the girls were wearing 'cute flats' and skinny jeans (hm, not much change). this is the first time i'm wearing them. madness.

working on work and discipline this week. stupid skin went into remission; trying to determine if i have some sort of actual acne or if it's just the oils from my hair causing the breakouts. maybe i should finally get on birth control again (it made me absolute insane but maybe it'll be worth it?).

hahahaha. great debate guys. my friend has decided to compromise by stating that they are 'brazilian jeans' and/or jeggings (which i'm against as they're NOT jeans but w/e).

Still debating whether or not these qualify as 'pants'. I'm sort of against leggings, just because I don't think that if you're wearing longjohns and they happen to have some wicked awesome designer name on them, it somehow qualifies them as 'cool'. they're still longjohns. and they don't look very good on most people (i omitted the back shots on purpose).
HOWEVER, if your leggings have pockets and a zipper, then i think they're wholly acceptable. because then they're pants. they just happen to be very tight. :)
