got a lot of strange looks wearing this. not sure if it's too dated or too trendy or too....unconventional?  i think it was a lot of coverage for the city. people bare a lot of skin this time of year trying to salvage summer, so i guess this almost 'mom' look screamed frump on streets where booty shorts and ass-skimming skirts are the norm.
still have my nose faithfully pressed to the grindstone. test tomorrow and my professor is a moron. from the consensus, it seems we, as a class, will be teaching ourselves chemistry this semester. hurray.

i got compliments on my hair today! never happens. people usually just kind of stare. i think it's because it's smaller today than it usually is. lol. i also think i look like a little kid here. d'ah well.

debating getting my nails done today. i don't like people touching my feet. totally skeeves me out. but these lovely NYC'ers with their perfect nail jobs are making me jealous. i SUCK at applying lacquer to my nails. i can never get a smooth line; probably because i hesitate. they look like tire tracks.

hoping to get some things accomplished this weekend. like selling more of my stuff. and getting a new A/C (i've been bitchy in the heat; the boy can't take it anymore). and looking for a new job.

i've been told this skirt makes me look like i'm walking on water. dubbed it the 'jesus skirt'. sacrilege? either way, it heralds the official beginning of 'summer' for me. on my way into work, i was watching people watch my skirt trail on the floor very intently. i get those looks a lot when there's a light breeze simply because of the length; it's bound to get filthy within a few hours. as i walked past one pair enjoying a cigarette, i caught sight of a dog squatting in the middle of the sidewalk...doing his business very intently. guess there's going to be a lot on this skirt that i'm unable to identify...

hurray heat. means i can start wearing my hair outside wet again.

sorry about the icky face. no sleep last night. grouchy as ever. stepped in poo while taking these pictures. at least it'll be a four day week. took yesterday off to go to a bevy of physicians (who should totally buy you dinner for all the invasion you suffer at their hands, i might add). it'll be a good week. it's a special person's birthday and i've got a bunch of surprises. can't explain til next week as he'll no doubt be lurking here.

realized i've been out of the blog loop since FRIDAY. no idea what's going on in the (blogging) world. also, still tinkering with the blog. trying to find a layout i like. i wanted it simply laid out, but i've kind of begun to enjoy this dinky orange background. will continue to poke at it.

tried to sell these shoes a few months back and no one bought them via ebay. so now working on incorporating them despite my plank-flat feet (i.e., three pairs of socks). also, i realize my hair is all sorts of mad due to the variety of textures i've been blessed with.  so i pinned it up á la Flawless Mistake. I've done it with my hair loose, but it never occured to me to do it with twists in until I checked out her blog. My twists don't last very long and my twist-outs are mad, so this is a good way to keep them neat and for a bit longer. There's literally about 3 dozen pins in my hair.

so after a glorious week, it is now pouring outside. there is traffic. madness in the streets. on the good side, i was uber late and still mde it before any of my bosses. score one for me.
this was my sort of hastily thrown together outfit. couldn't find an sd card to take pictures; exhausted; cut school again yesterday because i have a resident mathematician to teach me the homework; feeling SUPER guilty about it; saw alice in wonderland in 3D (yeah, 3D glasses OVER my glasses...stupid); will be seeing it again tuesday via private screening; will be holed up in some dingy college library for the next 3 days or so to repent for my academic sins; just figured out how to use endnote for work despite the foul-ups caused by senior ignorami; also spent $40 on hair products yesterday.

oh, and this jacket matches my job's letterhead...hence not wearing it till now. icky. lol, that's quite petty, i suppose.

agreed to lend my friend $200 to help her out of a bind. except i don't really have it, lol. i mean, i have it, but i don't really wanna just give it away, and i think that's what happens when you loan friends money. kiss it goodbye.

anyway, glad it's friday and hoping it'll be crappy out tomorrow so i can a) sleep in (til 8am!!!!) and b) not want to go play in the sunshine.

so the other night, i was watching a horrid movie with friends. ever seen those films where people die in slow motion, whispering their last words with great drama and suspense? yeah, so we decided to re-enact this ourselves (so it was a REALLY bad movie), lol. these were the best ones:

yeah, freakin random. but think about it, you KNOW if someone whispered any of these things while on their deathbed, your IMMEDIATE thought would be...wtf?? WHICH CHAIR? HOW MUCH MONEY?? OH MY GOD, WAKE UP AND EXPLAIN YOURSELF!!

on another note, i was very naughty and flaked on school yesterday, wallowed in sangria and then soaked it up with thai. then i went home and did a powerpoint that's due today and evidently, all my answers are wrong...oops. all in all, a good start to the week.

spent my weekend watching dexter and drinking coronas; 22 oz. cuz i'm G like that. and now i have to type up the giant project i've been working on since saturday. finally got it mostly done though. unfortunately it was to the detriment of my reading assignment. ick.

GLORIOUS weather outside today. got my heel stuck in a grate...lame. and played with my hair. got this effect...kinda odd. was told that this top is very 'provocative'. i like it. it's strange and somehow futuristic. thought it would be great paired with a pair of leather leggings. unfortunately, they're wholly out of my budget at the moment.
