on the mend
anyone there? helloooooooo.
pardon the absence. been trying to heal. still pretty stuffy but on the mend. currently kicking myself in the ass for not taking a lesser job for lesser pay and choosing instead to work for the earthly equivalent of the devil. the devil is NOT cool, man.
i'm also learning a new side of myself. the side that doesnt like to buy things unnecessarily. the side that cares about her health. the side that really is substantive despite an extended period of self-doubt. anyway, more on that later. on to the clothes:
my shirt is see-through. ha. take that world. check the knife and fork earrings. i am ready to do damage.
i think i'm becoming like the divinitus (and others) in that i'm sticking to a main/single color palette and working in bits around it. i seem to be the queen of brown. it's just such a great color! especially in boots... but i tried to add a bit of color with the bag, on account of it being spring and whatnot. it's also quite chilly this morning, hence the extra layers. my hair. is huge.
went out to dinner last night and scared off some people who were less...pigmented. i sort of love/hate that about my hair. it's not super spectacular as compared to anyone else's or anything. but it definitely gets a LOT of attention when it's like this. people touch it sometimes, but mostly there's just a lot of gawking. and usually, the places i frequent for my food and drink are not usually frequented by persons of color, so it stands out even more. lol. but that's part of the awesome of nyc. people look, raise a brow, and then they go back to their cocktails.
i got my ma a box of chocolate covered strawberries via gilt (love that site). however, i think there's a major fail going on on the part of the usps/ups/whoever the people are delivering it, because i have not yet received the super-excited, blubbering phone call saying thank you yet. she generally hates that stuff so i sent them in lieu of actual time spent together since she'll be working. anything cool planned for mother's day?

Um give me that skirt!!!
Did you nab any of the RO stuff on gilt today? As usual I was not in time for anything good ::sigh::
Seriously, that skirt!!
Yeah...I was gonna go off about the RO sale today, too.
SUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKS.
YAY for particular palettes!
lol @ the earrings. those are pretty cool! where are you working?
Firstly, that skirt just gave me LIFE! Lord, I need one of these badboys. It's stunning. I want one in black too. Secondly, "less pigmented.." lmfao. You are a mess haha! I get looks when my hair is huge too. Usually people touch it too and often compliment me on it, but I have to admit I was very hesitant the first time I walked out of my house with it all bushy. Anyhoo, I understand what you mean about the colour palette, personally I'm an all-black girl. And sometimes I try spice it up but I always return to my black. It just does it for me. You wear brown well, really well. Hope you are better. I see someone asked about your work, I would also like to know what it is you do if you don't mind.
those earrings!!! too freaking cool, man
omgggg so lovely!!:)
